More than 650 participants, the 5th Vandekames

A total of 687 people registered at the 5th Vandekames , mountain sporting event designed for families to enjoy , held on Saturday August 8 in Vandellos . For this number of participants and the support received by the City of Vandellòs Hospitalet de l' Infant, by various organizations and businesses and more than 150 volunteers , organizers ( the Center Hiker Serres del Mestral and Centre Cultural, Esportiu i Recreatiu de Vandellos) have made a very positive assessment of this event that was developed with adverse weather conditions ( rain ). As for results, the winners of the new showpiece of this year, the ultra-endurance race of 85 km and 5200 meters of positive slope, included in the Catalan Cup races this specialty (FEEC) were Kai Langelo, Tarraco Club Trail, in the men's category with a time of 12 hours, 51 minutes and 39 seconds; and Elena Calvillo, the Basque team in the women's category with a time of 15 hours 25 minutes and 19 seconds. In this race 88 riders signed up, but finally managed to complete only 47. The first to finish the black circuit of 28 km, were Christopher Adell, The Sports Club in the men's category with a time of 2:30 :21; and Esther Casajuana, the C.E. Alliberadrenalina in the women's category with a time of 3:22:54. Oscar Chies, the Center Hiker Serres del Mestral, won the local award (he was 19th in the overall standings). The winners of the red channel of 18 km, were Toni Calderon, the Club Rest. Goretti-Ohtels Salou, in the men's category with a time of 1:55:43; and Lourdes Cayetano, Borges Club Trail, in the women's category with a time of 2:21:19.

At the local level, Lluís Saladié, the Center Hiker Serres del Mestral; and Marta Galego, Triathlon Club Serres del Mestral, made with victories in the male and female form, respectively (he was 8th in the standings, and she, in 75th position). In other circuits, consisting of non-competitive walks, a total of 220 people signed: 184 Blue circuit (12.5 km walk); and 36 to yellow, 7 km, which was one of the novelties of this edition, along with the ultra-endurance race. The children's races (the call Vandekids) included the registration of 75 children and had to play in the indoor arena, due to rain.
