The Princes of Santa Marina

On the one hand, there is the popular saying: “Go to Santa Marina, you maiden, and if you do,   you will come back as married woman”. Since the 17th century, processions and meetings were organized on Santa Marina and Saint Anthony days. The hermitage became a meeting point for young people who, according to the tradition, went there looking for a partner.

On the other hand, it is said that in every spring evening a melancholic, deep chant can be heard in the surroundings of Santa Marina, calling the attention of the hearts in love. They explain that a little army of toads go out every evening looking for the kiss which breaks the spell.
